Marvin Wayne Tyacke, 90
Marvin Wayne Tyacke passed away on Dec. 26, 2019. Marvin was born on April 17, 1929, in Saskatchewan, Canada, to Clarence and Almeda Tyacke. He was joined by four brothers and one sister. Marvin claimed to be a jack-of-all-trades and master of none. However, later in life, he mastered acting, writing and story-telling.
As a young man, Marvin married Carol and together they had three sons and three daughters. He later married Beverly, who also had three sons and three daughters. In 1995, Marv and Bev moved to Post Falls, Idaho, with daughter, Mickey. Daughter, Gyneen, and her son, Paul, joined them soon after. Another daughter, Victoria, lived there already with her family.
Marvin loved fishing and if he was near water, he would cast a fishing line. In his mid-60s, Gyneen brought home a flyer from North Idaho College asking for actors to audition for “The Grapes of Wrath.” Marv decided to give acting a try and when he walked into the auditorium, the director knew he had found the lead actor. At that point, “a star was born.” He appeared in many different plays after that. He was cast as a zombie on the television series “Z Nation,” where he met several new friends. He appeared in the movie “American Romance,” which was filmed in Post Falls and Wallace, Idaho. Marv was also an author and poet and published a motion picture screenplay with his good friend, Timothy Kippes, in 2018. The script is registered with the United State Copyright Office.
Marvin was a daily fixture at Denny’s in Post Falls, where he met and kept most of his friends and told stories of his life. He was always ready to help anyone in need. Marv was a veteran who proudly served in the United States Army. He had many mottos, but the one he often told his grandchildren was: “Success is not being the best at anything. Success is doing your best at everything!”
Marvin has now joined his wife, Beverly, in heaven; along with his sons Doug, David and Steven; step-son, Jeff and daughter, Becky. He is survived by daughters Laura of Orange County, Calif.; Victoria, Gyneen and Mickey of Post Falls and JoAnn (Roger) of Milwaukee, Wis.; sons Robert of Post Falls and Tom (Deb) of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 1, 2020, at Real Life Ministries (RLM2), in Post Falls.
