Kirk Barber, 61

A memorial service for Kirk Barber, age 61, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 29, 2020, at Yates Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church on Thursday Jan. 30th at 10 a.m. followed by a graveside service at St. Thomas Cemetery. Kirk Steven Barber was born March 3, 1958 in San Francisco, CA and moved to Coeur d’Alene, ID in 1980.

On June 8, 2008 Kirk was united in marriage to Linda Anne Demeo and they were blessed with 11 years of marriage.

Kirk worked as firefighter, logger, forester, tree planter, but was first and foremost a talented Artist who produced works of art in a variety of mediums. Prior to retirement he worked as a night custodian at Fernan STEM Academy. He truly enjoyed his time there and the camaraderie of the staff.

On Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, Kirk died peacefully at his home in CDA at the age of 61, after a brave battle with a rare bone cancer.

Kirk enjoyed painting, fishing, hunting, gardening, cooking, and spending time with his family and many friends.

Kirk is survived by his loving wife Linda Barber, mother Dixie Barton, father Wayne Barber and his wife Rosalie. Brothers Scott Barber, David Barton and his wife Bonnie, Aaron Barber, and preceded in death by brother Craig Barber. Sister Shelley O’Riley and husband Jaffar. Daughters Christine Harding and husband James McDay, Kimberly Mason and husband David, Danielle Cloutier, Stephanie Cloutier, and Crystal Cloutier. Aunts Letha and the late Ned White, and Layne Kershner and husband Jim. Uncle Wayne Davis and wife Christine Merchant. Nieces Tressa Ferguson and husband Jake with children Hollie, Alan, Ava and Holden Kirk, Michelle Groth and husband Adam with children Zachary and Linnsie, Melissa O’Hara and husband Ryan, April Thomas and husband Chris with children Alyssa, Bailey, Korban and Linda. Nephews Teric Barton and wife Ashley with son Aiden, Cody Barton, Bret Ravsten and wife Cambria with children Liam and Link, Nick Forrest, and Jamie Forrest. Grandchildren Kyle Mason, Josh Mason and wife Laini, Zoie Rose Cloutier, Gunner Nelson, Bradley Saltness, Gracie Saltness, Cameron Krieger, and Colby Saltness.

Rest in Peace Kirk. You may be gone for now but you live forever in our memories and in our hearts.
