VIRUS OUTBREAK-TESTING INEQUALITY

PHOENIX — As the coronavirus pandemic explodes in states like Arizona and Florida, people in communities of color like Phoenix’s long neglected working class neighborhood of Maryvale are fighting to get tested after a family member or fellow employee gets sick. They say the tests, especially the free ones, are hard to find in the more downtrodden areas, far from the wealthier areas where the big box pharmacies and medical centers offer most of the testing opportunities.
