Big Bend Accreditation Visit On October 12-14, 2020 Big Bend Community College (BBCC) will undergo an onsite Evaluation of Institutional Effectiveness from the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). Big Bend Community College is fully accredited by the NWCCU, which means that BBCC is compliant with the Standards, Policies and Eligibility Requirements of the NWCCU. Accreditation of an institution of higher education by the NWCCU indicates that it meets or exceeds criteria for the assessment of institutional quality evaluated through a peer review process. An accredited college or university is one which has available the necessary resources to achieve its stated purposes through appropriate educational programs, is substantially doing so, and gives reasonable evidence that it will continue to do so in the foreseeable future. Accreditation by the NWCCU also addresses institutional integrity by providing reasonable assurance about the quality of opportunities available to students who attend an institution.
