LEWISTON, Idaho — Mercedes-Benz College Prep summer team finished up a five-game series against LC Twins beginning last Thursday, losing just once.

A 15-2 blowout win over LC Twins kicked things off for the Benz squad in the series, riding an early surge of runs to the victory. Although they were ahead 3-2 after the first, 12 runs over the next two innings helped push the lead out of reach for Mercedes-Benz.

Four players finished with multiple hits and three RBIs in the win. Trey Garza finished 1-2 from the plate with a double, an RBI and two runs scored.

LC Twins would come back for revenge in the second game of the doubleheader, taking down Mercedes-Benz, 7-1. Scoreless through three innings, the Twins fired off seven runs over the next two innings to pull away in the game.

The Benz summer squad saw the offense pick back up in their opening game on Friday, taking down LC Twins in their third consecutive matchup, 11-1. Again, an early lead helped Mercedes-Benz pull away quickly, taking a 6-1 lead after three innings before sealing the win with a five-run sixth.

Garza finished 1-3 from the plate, including a double, and tied for a team-high two RBIs.

In the fourth game of the series on Friday, Mercedes-Benz rode another early lead to a 9-3 win, holding off a brief surge from the Twins in the bottom of the third inning. The Benz squad out-hit their opponents 12-7 in the win, with 10 players notching a hit.

In their final game of the series against LC Twins on Saturday, Mercedes-Benz picked up a third consecutive win, 7-4. After a pair of scoreless innings, Benz was able to rattle off six runs over the next three innings to pull ahead 6-1. Adding a run in the top of the seventh, LC Twins put up a late run before ultimately falling short of the late comeback.

Ryan Arredondo picked up the start on the mound, tossing five innings with one run allowed on two hits. Arredondo finished with eight strikeouts in the win. Jaxon Rocha finished 1-4 from the plate in the win as well.

Mercedes-Benz sits at 13-6-1 this summer, winning eight of its last 10 games.
