Riverdogs lose close game

TRI-CITIES — The Columbia Basin Riverdogs returned to play Thursday afternoon, losing a tight game to Northwest Athletics 2-0.
Northwest took a 1-0 advantage in the top of the fourth inning. The Athletics added a run to their lead in the sixth.
Both teams finished with four hits apiece Thursday.
Merrit Jansen threw five innings for the Riverdogs before Garet Hagy came in to close out the game. Jansen allowed one run on four hits, with two strikeouts in the game. Hagy allowed one run on no hits with a pair of strikeouts as well.
Asher Lindgren led the Riverdogs from the plate in the defeat, finishing 2-3 for the evening. Jett Nelson and Peyton Juarez each notched hits for Columbia Basin as well.
