Rathdrum Day pushes forward with annual celebration

Rathdrum Day is coming to the Lakeland High School grounds this Saturday with vendor booths and entertainment from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The Rathdrum Area Chamber of Commerce will host McDonald’s Big Wheel Races at 1 p.m. in the Lakeland High School’s teacher parking lot, pony rides, and guest appearances from Frozen’s Elsa, Disney’s Snow White, and Pirates of the Caribbean Captain Jack Sparrow.

Entertainment will include a bagpipe band, a magician and local musicians. Visitors can honor grand marshal Larry Brown at noon on the Main Stage on the Lakeland High School grounds.

While the Chamber and Rathdrum Days Committee are heartbroken to cancel activities like the Main Street Parade, they appreciate the community’s understanding.

“We are very sorry that we are not able to host these events but look forward to a better 2021,” a news release said.

The Rathdrum Area Chamber of Commerce encourages attendees to practice social distancing and will be providing additional sanitation methods.
