A man and his son turned the tables on another North Valley resident when he allegedly attacked them with a knife during a recent incident.

Brandon Michael Daniels, 41, is facing two felony counts of assault with a weapon. His bail was set at $30,000. He was booked into and released from the Flathead County Detention Center on the same day, Monday, July 20.

According to the charging documents, a Flathead County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a Barrel Hed Road home on June 11 and spoke with a man and his son who were holding Daniels on the ground.

The man told the officer he was sitting on his porch when Daniels drove down the private road on an ATV. The man said Daniels began calling him names, and said he approached Daniels and told him he was on a private road.

The man said Daniels head-butted him and they began to fight. At some point Daniels allegedly pulled out a knife. The victim said Daniels pointed the knife at him and his son. They both wrestled Daniels to the ground and held him there until the deputy arrived.

On June 12, a detective from the Sheriff’s Office spoke to Daniels and he allegedly admitted he head-butted the man and pulled out a switchblade knife after the two began fighting.

On June 16, the detective spoke with the two victims. The father said Daniels threatened to kill him, his family and neighbors. He also said Daniels made a move at him with the knife.

The son said he feared for his and others’ safety because of Daniels’ aggressive behavior and wielding a knife.

In the charging document, bail was ordered by Justice Court Judge Eric Hummel because Daniels has had numerous temporary restraining orders issued against him. He has also been charged with violating two restraining order violations, which were dismissed.

Daniels is scheduled to appear in Flathead County District Court for arraignment on Thursday, July 30.

Daniels faces a maximum sentence of 20 years on each count.
