MANDATE: Good, but wishful thinking

The Panhandle Health District just issued a mask requirement for Kootenai County. Likely based on science and good public health policy.

Ahh, and folks, there is a tooth fairy as well. Like it or not, Kootenai County residents rarely bow to what they view as any infringement on their personal right to make up their own mind, period.

While well-intentioned, the mask ordinance is unenforceable and a distraction to more important police work.

When the bars and restaurants are forced to close again, the mask objectors can rethink the outcomes of their “rights.”

Wear a mask if you care for others.
