WARDEN — The state Employment Security Department has been informed of potential temporary layoffs by Lamb Weston in Warden and Connell.

Lamb Weston is a potato processor and major employer in Central Washington. The ESD’s Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification states that 300 employees at the Warden facility and 360 at the processor’s Connell location could be affected, starting June 15.

State agencies will be contacting the local WorkSource center to organize outreach efforts to affected employees.

Lamb Weston could not be reached immediately for comment. WorkSource had not yet finalized its outreach plans, according to its representatives.
