OTHELLO — A peaceful protest march is planned for Othello from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, following similar protests taking place across the country. The event’s Facebook page notes the protest march is set to make its way up and down Main Street in Othello.

Protest organizers have communicated with members of the Othello Police Department, who have agreed to stand by protesters, providing masks and water bottles as well. The only area the OPD asked the protesters to stay away from was Walmart. Protest organizers agreed to not let the march pass 10th Street and Main Street.

Protest organizers posted thanks to the Othello Police Department for cooperation with the event. Organizers are aiming to have extra cardboard available to drop off for people wishing to make their own signs for the march as well. For updating information on the protest, visit the event’s page at “Peaceful Protest for Othello” on Facebook.
