Richard R. Alkire, 64

Richard R. Alkire, aka Marshall till Midnight, 64, passed away March 21, 2020, in Spokane, Washington.

He was born in El Paso, Texas, on August 6, 1955, where he spent his formative years before moving to Abilene, Texas, to attend Hardin Simmons University to work toward a degree in music education. While there he also had the opportunity to work his dream job as a disk jockey for KEAN radio station.

However, God had greater plans for Rick’s life by calling him into full-time ministry. He soon left school and moved to Grand Coulee, Wash., to pastor his very first church in 1980. It was here, he met and married Debra K. Atchison on July 25, 1981, and from there they began their life’s path and many adventures by serving wherever God sent them across the country.

One of the greatest adventures and blessings were their four children.

Rick is survived by his wife, Debbie; his children, son Richard B (Sarah) Alkire, son Christopher R. (Makayla) Alkire, daughter Heather M. (Taylor) Dodge, and son Stephen T. (Lisa) Alkire; his grandchildren, Kobe, Kilee, Anthony, and Jarren; and by a sister, brother, numerous beloved family members and friends.

Throughout the years, Rick worked in radio with his most recent and last was K102 in Sandpoint, Idaho. His passions in life included reading, music, carrying on a good conversation and being a closet foodie, but he was most proud of his family and serving The Lord.

We would like to invite you to Rick’s memorial/celebration of life service on June 13, 2020’ at House of the Lord Church, 754 Silver Birch Lane, Oldtown at 11 a.m. There is a potluck to follow where we can continue to celebrate Rick’s life by reminiscing, sharing stories and just visiting together.
