NATIONAL SUMMARY

An area of low pressure will continue to produce heavy rain

and drenching thunderstorms over the Carolinas tomorrow and

amplify flooding issues in the region. Farther north, the

Great Lakes to the Northeast will be dry and seasonable as

high pressure dominates the area. Dry, but hot weather is in

store for the Plains, with the mercury for some locations

forecast to top out 15 degrees Fahrenheit above normal for

mid-June. Farther west, rain and showers will continue to

dampen the Northwest. Periods of heavier rain can lead to

localized flash flooding issues for portions of the northern

Rockies. Aside from a few afternoon thunderstorms in the

southern Rockies, the southwestern United States will remain

dry and breezy.
