KELLOGG — The SilverHoops 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament is moving forward despite having an uncertain future.

Planning the event is still underway, but those plans will need to be approved by the Kellogg City Council which has tightened up its restrictions in light of COVID-19.

As of right now, the soonest that registration will be open for the late July event is July 9, the day after the next City Council meeting.

There is a chance that the 2020 edition of SilverHoops will be the first edition in the event’s history that will need to limit the number of teams allowed in each bracket, but event organizers believe that teams should begin gathering information now so they can register as soon as it opens up.

There will be a price increase for younger divisions this year, going from $100 to $120 to cover the cost of having referees at the eighth grade and younger divisions rather than a court monitor.

As is everything in the world right now, there is a chance the event will require several health and safety precautions that may be a slight inconvenience for those who attend the event, but as of right now nothing has been set in stone and the situation remains very fluid.

SilverHoops is still accepting vendor registrations, so if you would like to reserve a spot please contact the Silver Valley Chamber of Commerce at 208-784-0821.

If the event is unable to proceed, but you have paid already, a full refund will be available to you.

Updates will be posted on the SilverHoops 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament.
