WENATCHEE — Libraries in Grant County will reopen when all counties in the area served by North Central Regional Library reach Phase 3 of the state’s reopening plan, according to an NCRL spokesperson.

The NCRL operates libraries in Moses Lake, Ephrata, Quincy, Royal City, Warden, Mattawa, George, Coulee City, Soap Lake and Grand Coulee, as well as in Okanogan, Douglas, Chelan and Ferry counties.

The headquarters of NCRL is in Chelan County, which is still in a modified form of Phase 1. Douglas County also is in a modified Phase 1. Grant and Okanogan counties are in Phase 2, and Ferry County is in Phase 3. McNeil said NCRL officials won’t reopen libraries to the public until all counties in which the system operates are in Phase 3. Some online services, such as mail order and reserving of books, will restart when the counties reach Phase 2.

Libraries were closed in March to help combat the spread of the coronavirus.
