Injured arborist rescued from tree

SANDPOINT — Selkirk Fire, Rescue and EMS helped rescue an arborist from the top of a tree after the individual was injured on Saturday. Selkirk Fire’s technical rescue team was called to the scene by Bonner County EMS to assist with the rescue of the injured arborist who was 60 feet in the top of a tree, the fire department posted on its Facebook page. “Selkirk Fire would like to thank BCEMS, Life Flight Network, 2 Bear Air, Bonner Country Sheriff Marine 5, Timberlake Fire and all of the Lakeview community for an incredible team effort to extract the man from the tree after a portion of it severely injured him,” department officials posted. “The patient was transported by Life Flight 83 to Kootenai Health where he was met in the emergency department by a specialized trauma services team.”
