NAPLES — A man died in a crash on U.S. 95 Tuesday morning.

Troy D. Armstrong, 54, of Kennewick, Wash., was driving a 2005 Kenworth loaded log truck northbound near milepost 496 near Naples in Boundary County when it left the roadway shortly before 11 a.m.

The truck entered the northbound ditch, struck a power pole, overturned and lost the load of logs onto the highway, according to the Idaho State Police.

Armstrong’s vehicle continued up the embankment coming to rest on the driver’s side. He died at the scene.

Armstrong was wearing a seat belt, ISP said.

Crews were removing the logs and vehicle from the roadway into the afternoon.
