SANDPOINT — A preliminary hearing is pending for a Bonner County man accused of sexual battery of a minor.

The allegations against Raymond William Wright II emerged last month, after the alleged victim, 17, reported the misconduct to a family member, which led to an investigation by Bonner County sheriff’s detectives, court records show.

The alleged victim told investigators Wright touched her buttocks over her clothes and showed her pornographic images and sex toys, according to a probable cause affidavit. The teen said she told Wright not to touch her during the incident, the affidavit said.

The teen also told authorities that Wright attempted to get her to model lingerie for him at a local department store. On another occasion, Wright allegedly attempted to get the teen to touch herself and a note was found in his vehicle which remarked on the teen’s body, according to court documents.

Wight is free on his own recognizance while the case is pending, court documents indicate.

A hearing to determine if the state has enough evidence to justify trying him in 1st District Court is set for March 3.
