A Kalispell man is facing several charges after authorities said he led police on a high-speed chase in the Columbia Falls area before they used spike strips to halt his rampage last week.
Brian Troy Kelley, 46, is charged with criminal endangerment and driving under the influence, as well as for failing to appear in court on a previous DUI charge.
According to Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino, a Columbia Falls Police officer attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Kelley. He allegedly failed to stop, drove through a fence and lost a tire in a field. Kelley then drove out of the field and ran over the spike strip.
Law officers arrested Kelley at gunpoint and he was taken to the Flathead County Detention Center. He has since been released after posting $20,000 bail.
Kelley is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 12, in front of Flathead County District Judge Amy Eddy.
