COLLEGE WOMEN: Vandals roll, clinch second seed to Big Sky Conference tournament

OGDEN, Utah — Senior Lizzy Klinker scored 18 points as Idaho rolled past Weber State 91-57 in Big Sky Conference play in front of 340 at the Dee Events Center on Wednesday.

With the win, Idaho (19-9, 14-5 Big Sky) clinches the second seed to the conference tournament starting next week in Boise.

Janie King, a sophomore from Eagle, scored 17 points off the bench for Idaho, which led 46-30 at halftime.

“I thought our ball movement was great today, everybody was touching the ball,” Idaho coach Jon Newlee said. “We talked about keeping the energy up and being ready to shoot the ball and we did a good job of that tonight. We came in focused and knew we couldn’t overlook these guys and couldn’t just show up and win.”

The tournament begins Monday at CenturyLink Arena in Boise.

Weber State is 3-25, 1-18.

Idaho concludes the regular season at Idaho State on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Idaho State 77, Eastern Washington 49: At Pocatello, Bella Cravens scored 10 of her game-high 16 points in the third quarter for the Eagles in a loss to the Bengals.

Idaho State used a 15-2 run in the second quarter to outscore the Eagles 27-12, taking a 38-20 lead into the half.

Eastern Washington (4-24, 3-16 Big Sky) travels to Weber State on Friday.

Idaho State (17-11, 13-6) hosts Idaho on Saturday.
