Spokane Shock head into first practice with big names on roster

Spokane Shock players reported to meetings Thursday and were handed their equipment on Friday.
The reborn Indoor Football League team begins practice Saturday in Post Falls at the Timber Thorns North FC indoor soccer facility.
The Shock, who open their season March 22 on the road against the Bismarck Bucks, are back after a two-year hiatus. Their first home game at Spokane Arena is March 26 against the San Diego Strike Force.
New majority owner and former NFL defensive tackle Sam Adams announced the team’s return in November, along with the addition of veteran indoor coach Billy Back from the Carolina Cobras.
The Shock have signed 40 players on a roster they will trim down to 25 before the season opener. The roster includes former Alabama starting quarterback Blake Sims and Washington State standout wide receiver Tavares Martin Jr.
