So I showed up the other night in Athol (along with about 70 other people) to watch the sheriff candidate debate only to see one candidate there, Bob Norris. The evening before Kim Edmondson, Rick Whitehead and John Grimm all backed out as a group. How much more disrespectful could they be?
Their joint statement said they would not attend because they were against an animal rights group, the organizer would not allow a debunked troublemaker to attend and that the questions were going to be biased or unfair because the organizer of the event was a supporter of Bob Norris. This sounds suspicious.
The animal rights group was involved from the beginning, yet all the candidates agreed to attend knowing this. The troublemaker made threats to sue the organizer and should not be allowed to attend if he planned on disrupting the event. Edmondson, Whitehead and Grimm apparently wanted the troublemaker to attend. And if the organizer’s questions were biased or unfair, then the voters would see through that. Either way, I was hoping to see the candidates get asked tough questions, no different than I want our sheriff to be asked tough questions and give straight answers to us.
I believe Bob Norris is the Sheriff Kootenai County needs. He isn’t afraid of difficult questions and won’t leave voters hanging. He’s got my vote!
