COMMUNICATION: Kids and columnists
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 4 years, 10 months AGO
Class, raise your hands if you sent Annaleigh, the Virginia third grader, comments about Idaho. Thanks to the readers who did (“Press,” March 4)!
Besides the letter that we sent her, we included a barred owl that we photographed in Cataldo.
The barred owl photo is also stapled to the one-page introduction that we give college students when we go on campuses. Another wonderful way to work with the nation’s young people.
Also, I sent letters to Columnists David Brooks (N.Y. Times) and Mark Shields (PBS). They had been disgusted (?) with President Trump calling Gov. Jay Inslee of Washington a “snake?” Apparently, Vice President Pence had called all 50 governors about the coronavirus, and had varied responses?
During this same period, Sen. Chuck Schumer threatened (?) Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.
Schumer had said in supporting abortion, “You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price.” Backpedaling, Schumer said later that is just the way people from Brooklyn talk?
Mile-marker: Robbie Hansen turned 40 years of age on Feb. 10 this year. Robbie is the first child that we helped save from abortion (1979). We also saved children from abortion in New York (1988) — no help from Schumer.
We have to pick Trump, who mentions how precious children are, over Schumer.
But we do not believe in calling people names or threatening them.
However, for appropriate people, maybe I could send one of my photos of rattlesnakes!
But for columnists Brooks and Shields, I did refer them to a “snake” article that I wrote, “Deadly Invasive Burmese Pythons…” published in raptureready.com in January!
