The Coeur d’Alene School Board is going through with its special meeting this evening to vote on final proposed school zones.

The board will meet at 4 p.m. in the Midtown Meeting Center to discuss temporary school closures. Live streaming will begin at 5 p.m. for the final decision on new boundaries, which the Coeur d’Alene Boundary Review Committee has been working on since early last fall.

The proposed changes for elementary schools would apply for the 2020-2021 school year. No changes are proposed at this time for the Borah, Bryan or Fernan attendance zones. The district will re-evaluate those zones during the next year.

No changes are proposed at this time for the middle school attendance zones. Those will be re-evaluated at a later date when additional school capacity is an option.

The proposed high school changes would take effect for the 2020-21 school year for incoming freshmen only.

The Midtown Meeting Center is at 1505 N. Fifth St., Coeur d’Alene. Those who attend must sit six feet apart, so seating is limited.
