Group offers free errands to high-risk residents

A local nonprofit is offering simple errand-running services to Kootenai County residents who are especially vulnerable to COVID-19.
Starting Monday, March 23, volunteers from The Coeur Group will run errands for residents who are elderly, immunosuppressed or have medical conditions (such as heart disease, diabetes and lung disease) that put them at a higher risk from getting very sick from COVID-19.
Community members can request trips to the grocery store, bank or library runs, mailbox checks, non-narcotic trips to the pharmacy or any other simple errand.
“We are here to support and help fellow community members who are most susceptible to COVID-19,” said an announcement on The Coeur Group’s Facebook page.
All errand runners will be symptom-free and will wear latex gloves. The group has reportedly consulted with local physicians for best practices.
The Coeur Group is a collection of young business professionals in the Coeur d’Alene area.
Services will be provided based on availability of volunteers.
