KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) — An investigation is underway after Montana deputies found the bodies of an adult male and two children at a home near Polson, authorities said.

The Lake County sheriff's office responded Monday to a report of suspicious activity at the home about 50 miles (80 kilometers) south of Kalispell at the mouth of Flathead River, the Flathead Beacon reported.

County deputies identified Matthew Pruchnik, 49, Liam Pruchnik, 7, and Levi Pruchnik, 5.

Deputies believe it was a murder-suicide following an impending divorce and custody dispute with the mother of the children.

An investigation is ongoing.
