The Post Falls School District is offering emergency K-5 childcare, free meals and online education resources.

Emergency childcare starts Thursday at Mullan Trail and Ponderosa elementary schools. It will be limited to Post Falls School District students whose parents or guardians work in healthcare or emergency services. Parents must show a valid work ID for enrollment in the Emergency K-5 Childcare Program. The hours are 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays.

A supplemental breakfast and lunch program during this temporary school closure will be facilitated at Ponderosa Elementary, River City Middle and Post Falls High schools starting Thursday. Meals will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays through April 3. Children will receive a sack lunch as well as a sack breakfast for the following morning. Adults may purchase a meal for $3.95 each. To minimize crowds, families will enter the main entrance of the designated school, receive their meals and take them home to eat.

Students can access district curricular materials through www.clever.com. High school students taking dual credit classes will be contacted by their teachers regarding course expectations during this closure as soon as guidance is received from University of Idaho and North Idaho College. Visit www.pfsd.com for additional learning resources.
