Cecilene Simpson, 88, born Sept. 15, 1931, in Texarkana, Ark., passed away on March 15, 2020, in Coeur d’Alene.

Cecilene devoted a lot of her life to volunteer work. She served for the VFW in Rathdrum, Idaho, for several years, some of those years serving as vice president and president. She also did a lot of volunteer work for the Coeur d’Alene Senior Center, including many years of going in very early every morning to put together the meals on wheels.

Cecilene is survived by her daughter, Hazel Norene Wickstrom; her son, Kenneth W. Simpson; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
