Lois was born in Los Angeles on Dec. 26, 1931, to Rudy and Hazel Ostronik. After graduating from Fremont High School in L.A., she married her high school sweetheart, Carl Scott, on June 30, 1951. They had two boys, and in October of 1958, they moved to Arcadia, Calif. and had two girls.
Lois worked as a bank teller, a cake decorator and a sales person and bridal registrar in department stores until retiring. She even operated her own bakery for several years while her kids were in school.
Upon Carl’s retirement in 1992 they moved to Bishop, Calif. Lois joined the Daughters of the Nile and loved sewing for the Shriners Hospital for Children for 14 years. They moved to Big Pine, Calif., in 2006, and then to Hayden, Idaho, in 2013, to be near their children.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Lois is survived by her brother, Richard Ostronik of San Gabriel, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Janet Scott of Post Falls, Idaho; son, Kenneth Scott of Spokane, Wash.; daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Scott Porter of Spirit Lake, Idaho; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Darren Reynolds of Rio Rancho, N.M.; four granddaughters: Melissa Lewis (Rob) of Liberty Lake, Wash.; Becky Jones (Tony) of Rathdrum, Idaho, Amy Reno (Chris) of Newport, Wash., and Candice Berlin (Dan) of Post Falls; one grandson: Stephen Scott of Post Falls; six great- and great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
There will be no service, per her request.
