Max McCullough
Eastern Oregon basketball
McCullough, a 5-foot-11 junior guard from Post Falls High, was named an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American after averaging 19.6 points per game, as well as career-highs of 4.9 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game. He had 14 games with 20 or more points this season. McCullough finished the year with 1,661 career points, good for third in program history. He trails Mark Carollo by 38 points and 129 behind Randy Dolven.

Hicks, a redshirt senior from Coeur d’Alene, who began his playing career at Yavapai before transferring to Portland for his junior year, started all 14 games for the Broncos, finishing with 22 hits, eight doubles and 11 runs batted in before the season was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Northwest Athletic Conference announced its Winter Sports Academic Excellence Awards. To be eligible, athletes must be a sophomore, have a minimum of 36 credits earned, and hold a 3.25 cumulative grade point average. North Idaho College players selected were Christian Guess (men’s basketball), Alex Carlton (women’s basketball), Jordyn Higgins (women’s basketball) and Anna Schrade (women’s basketball). Also selected were Garrett White of Spokane, who played at North Idaho Christian and Lilly Kelley, a Timberlake High product, who played at Treasure Valley.
