Motorcycle accident on Westside Road

BONNERS FERRY — A man was transported to the hospital after a motorcycle accident on Westside Road this afternoon, Saturday, March 28.

Boundary County Sheriff’s Office, Boundary Ambulance, and North Bench Fire responded to the scene.

The motorcycle and rider left the road and traveled about 50 feet down a steep embankment, landing in a drainage ditch.

The accident occurred on a corner on Westside Road around the 6000 block.

MOYIE SPRINGS — A rockslide caused the derailment of a mile-long BNSF Railway train that was en route from Minneapolis, Minn., to Pasco, Wash., on Wednesday night, Jan. 1, sending an engine with its two-person crew plunging into the Kootenai River.
