Coronavirus: No new cases reported Monday

GRANT COUNTY — There were no new cases of the novel coronavirus reported in Grant County Monday, according to the Grant County Health District.

In total, there were 186 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in Grant County as of Monday evening.

There were also 34 probable cases and 96 tests still pending results. Seventy-six people had recovered enough to no longer be placed under quarantine, the health district reported last Friday.

Three people sickened with the novel coronavirus are currently hospitalized.

As of Monday evening, the Quincy area had 68 confirmed cases. Moses Lake reported 36, and the Mattawa area had 43 confirmed cases, respectively, as of Monday evening.

Ephrata reported 16 confirmed cases and Royal City had 12. Warden and Soap Lake each reported four, and the Grant County portion of the Othello area had a single case. The Grand Coulee/Electric City area has two confirmed cases.

The Coulee City area has not had a confirmed case from their communities, according to the health district.

In addition to tests that have come back positive, 1,941 have come back negative. As of Monday evening, around 8.7 percent of Grant County tests have come back positive, down from around 13.5 percent at the end of March, compared with around 6.8 percent statewide, according to statistics from the state Department of Health.
