Adams County wheat farmer to run for commissioner position

RITZVILLE — Dan Blankenship announced his candidacy for Adams County commissioner position No. 1 on Thursday, April 30. Blankenship is a former dryland wheat farmer and business owner who has served in leadership roles for local, state and national organizations, according to a press release from Blankenship’s campaign.

“We are in challenging times that require efficient communication and transparency from our leaders,” Blankenship said in a press release. “My goal is to serve the residents of Adams County with integrity as an effective, respectful and hardworking leader, who is focused on strengthening and developing our local economy.”

Blankenship has a degree from Washington State University in agronomy and has been a lifelong resident of Adams County, managing and operating a dryland wheat farm there for more than 40 years, the press release stated.
