Coronavirus: No new cases reported Wednesday

GRANT COUNTY - There were no new cases of the novel coronavirus reported in Grant County Wednesday according to the Grant County Health District.

In total, there were 188 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in Grant County as of Wednesday evening.

There were also 34 probable cases and 112 tests still pending results as of Wednesday. Seventy-six people had recovered enough to no longer be placed under quarantine, the health district reported last Friday.

Three people sickened with the novel coronavirus are currently hospitalized.

As of Wednesday evening, the Quincy area had 70 confirmed cases. Moses Lake reported 36, and the Mattawa had 43 confirmed cases respectively as of Wednesday evening.

Ephrata reported 16 confirmed cases and Royal City had 12. Warden and Soap Lake each reported four, and the Grant County portion of the Othello area had a single case. The Grand Coulee/Electric City has two confirmed cases.

The Coulee City area has not had a confirmed case from their communities, according to the health district.

In addition to tests that have come back positive, 2,027 have come back negative. As of Wednesday evening, around 8.3 percent of Grant County tests have come back positive, down from around 13.5 percent at the end of March, compared with around 6.8 percent statewide, according to statistics from the state Department of Health.
