SANDPOINT — A Clark Fork woman is facing felony charges for allegedly hitting a woman with her vehicle and trying to hit another man on Wednesday.
Nicole Renee Busch is charged with aggravated battery and aggravated assault, in addition to charges of possessing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Busch, 27, made an initial appearance in Bonner County Magistrate Court on Thursday via videoconferencing with the county jail. Minutes from the hearing were not immediately available on Thursday, however.
The location of the hit-and-run collision was not specified in court documents and the incident could not be found in the Bonner Dispatch call log.
The woman suffered a broken nose and facial lacerations, according to court documents.
When sheriff’s deputies located Busch, she admitted being involved in a hit-and-run collision, but disputed the circumstances and said she acted in self-defense, a probable cause affidavit alleges.
The woman who was hit said Busch drove directly at her. Busch did not stop to render aid or report the incident to authorities, the affidavit said. A man said Busch also drove at him, but he was able to avoid being struck.
Busch possessed a meth pipe and two vials of white powder when she was arrested.
A preliminary hearing in the case is pending.
Aggravated battery is punishable by up to 15 years in prison. The felony assault and drug charges are punishable by up to five years in prison upon conviction.
