Hi! My name is Cameron Sessions. I have a pretty busy schedule as I maintain school, sports and clubs all in my day-to-day activities. In between all of this, I find time to be with my friends and family. I enjoy being active as I enjoy being out in public and spending time with the people I love.

Activities/clubs/sports:

I have participated in many activities and extracurricular activities throughout my high school career: Football, baseball, DECA, Business Professionals of America, Kindness Club, National Honors Society, skiing and snowboarding and more.

Hobbies:

I love spending time with my friends and being outdoors. Often, we spend our time out in public enjoying the many activities that are available. In my free time, I often enjoy reading and relaxing even though my busy schedule does not always have room.

Favorite books/movies/music:

One of my favorite authors is Brandon Mull, and I really enjoy some of his series which include “Beyonders” and “Fablehaven.”

Favorite school subject:

I really enjoy the STEM subjects. Physics is one of my current favorite classes.

What has been your proudest moment in your school career?

One of my proudest moments was becoming the Post Falls High School valedictorian.

What has been the biggest challenge you overcame to become top of your class?

It was really difficult finding time to study and complete the many hours of homework due to my busy schedule.

What is one of your favorite school memories, from K-12?

It is too difficult to pick a favorite memory from my school career, but the times I spent completing homework and projects with my friends have truly impacted my life.

What are your plans for after high school?

I plan to serve a two-year mission as a part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Afterward, I plan to study at Brigham Young University in order to obtain a four-year degree.

Who has been your biggest influence or your biggest cheerleader through your academic journey?

My parents have always been my biggest supporters as they encourage me to do my best in my school work.

What will you miss most about high school?

The biggest aspect of high school that I will miss are the fun moments I spent with my friends and participating in extracurricular activities. I loved the many clubs in which I participated, and I will truly miss them after high school.

What advice do you have for younger students that will help them excel in their studies?

As long as you work hard and do the work, you will succeed.

The Coeur d'Alene Regional Chamber's American Heroes Fourth of July Parade will be held as usual at 10 a.m. Friday on Sherman Avenue in downtown Coeur d'Alene. This year's parade theme, with 100 entries, is "Home of the Brave." The beloved Independence Day tradition has been in doubt by some this week following the shootings Sunday that took the lives of Coeur d'Alene Fire Battalion Chief John Morrison, 52, and Kootenai County Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief Frank Harwood, 42, who were ambushed when responding to a brush fire on Canfield Mountain. "In light of the recent tragedy affecting our local fire community, we believe it is more important than ever for us to come together — to stand in unity, to honor the strength of our community and to pay tribute to the brave men and women who serve and protect us," Coeur d'Alene Chamber President and CEO Linda Coppess said Tuesday.
