Women Honoring Women is honored to announce the winners of their scholarships. Scholarships were presented to two students continuing in college: Hannah Hurst, a student at the University of Idaho; and Catherine Brenner, a student at Duke Kunshan University.

Also receiving scholarships were, Sage Saccomanno, Sandpoint High School, who will attend Bard College; Taylor James, Sandpoint High School, who will attend the University of Idaho; and Jenny Slaveck, Sandpoint High School, who will attend Colby College.

Women Honoring Women members offered their wishes to the young women for success in their future endeavors.

Several local students recently earned academic distinction for the most recent semester at Whitman College. This recognition is given to students who have completed a minimum of 12 credits, passed all credits attempted, and earned a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on no fewer than nine graded credits during the semester.

Among those earning honors were Whitney Parke, Dover, Lake Stevens High School; and Ian Bourn, Sandpoint, Sandpoint High School.

Eastern Washington University recently announced its dean’s list for the fall 2019 quarter (which ended Dec. 1).

Among those earning the academic honors were Grace Kirscher of Sandpoint, Jonathan Welch of Priest River, Louis Balcaen of Bonners Ferry, Riley Walkington of Sandpoint, Roxann Maier of Sandpoint, and Trinity Golder of Sandpoint.

Carroll College in Helena, Montana, has announced the names of students who have made the 2019 fall semester dean’s list.

To be included on the dean¹s list, a student must receive a 3.5 grade point average or higher on a 4.0 scale and take at least 12 graded credits in a semester.

Cheyenne Nicholson of Sandpoint was among those named to the list.

University of Wisconsin Oshkosh officials have announced students who qualified for the university dean’s list and honor roll in the fall of 2019 across its three campuses (Fond du Lac, Fox Cities and Oshkosh).

To qualify for the honor roll on UW Oshkosh campuses, a student must take at least 12 credits and earn a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.3 (out of a possible 4.0). Those with a GPA of 3.75 or better qualify for the Dean’s List.

Among those who earned a spot on the honor roll was Amy Anderson of Blanchard.
