The Kalispell Police Department is searching for a person who allegedly committed a drive-by shooting Sunday evening.

According to information from the department, officers responded to a motel on the southeast side of Kalispell for a report of shots fired.

No one was injured in the shooting and police are trying to find the person who is believed to be the shooter.

“We think we know who it is after speaking with the people who were shot at,” Kalispell Police Captain Jim Wardensky said. “We don’t believe it’s a random thing. We believe one person was targeted.”

Wardensky said the incident was not drug related.

“Fortunately, no one was injured, but we are concerned for the safety of people and we are working to try and find the alleged shooter as soon as possible,” Wardensky said.

Police ask if anyone has information about the incident to call Detective Shane Lidstrom at 758-7858 or Wardensky at 758-7794.

Information can also be provided to Crimestoppers at 752-8477.
