POCATELLO — Sophomore Dylan Lord wrapped up an impressive season with a 50th place finish at the 3A state cross country championships last Friday at Portneuf Wellness Complex in Pocatello.
Running on a course he's never competed on before, Lord finished with a time of 18:33.3, about 12 seconds off his personal best. Eighty-three runners took part in the state race.
"I was really proud of him for his hard work and preparation," head coach Lance Clark wrote in an email. "I can't wait to see how he and the others do in the future."
Lord was the lone Spartan that qualified for state. The boys missed out on qualifying as a team for state by 16 points at districts, but all five members of the team will be back next fall.
Lord captured sixth at regionals.
