Volleyball Western A Divisionals is set to begin this Thursday for a four-day unprecedented “traveling bracket” style tournament to accommodate coronavirus precautions. The format will consist of four matches being played per day, each match occurring in a different town, with the low-seed team traveling to the hosting high-seed team’s court.

Unlike previous years, this year’s bracket will not be a true double elimination due to time constraints imposed by the traveling system. There will still be matches to determine 3rd and 4th places on Monday, November 9.

Since the undefeated Wildkats are the highest seeded team in the state, Columbia Falls will be hosting its first divisional match at 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 5 against Butte Central, the southwest conference's sixth seed.

Due to pandemic restrictions, the traditional all-class state tournament held in Bozeman will not be taking place. Instead, each class will have its own state competition, held separately in different cities. The Class A state tournament will be held in Sidney starting on Thursday November 12, following the typical three-day, true double elimination format.
