Coronavirus cases in Lincoln County reached record highs over the weekend.

Health department officials announced an active case count of 112 on Nov. 7. This marked the first day Lincoln County case numbers have surpassed 100.

The number of additional cases recorded each day has been on the rise within the past week. On Nov. 7, health officials tallied 22 new cases. The day before, 20 additional cases were logged.

As the number of active cases continues to rise, health officials have transitioned from sharing demographic information on each new case to providing age ranges and gender tallies for each daily batch.

Of the 22 cases record on Nov. 7, 15 were male and seven were female. Patient ages ranged from 11 to 91 and all were experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. At the time of the announcement, two residents infected with the coronavirus were hospitalized.

Health officials have attributed five deaths to the virus. In total, 410 local residents have tested positive for the virus since March.
