MOSES LAKE — Samaritan Healthcare has partnered with Moses Lake Community Health Center and Confluence Health to host the 20th Annual Turkey Drive, benefiting the Moses Lake Food Bank, according to a release.

The food drive kicks off at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at both Walmart and Grocery Outlet in Moses Lake, and will run through 6 p.m. Friday. Those wishing to donate can purchase a pre-packaged bag for $10, filled with curated Thanksgiving goodies, or drop off any canned food or other non-perishable items, the release stated.

“We are thrilled to continue leading this effort,” wrote Rachelle Lange, volunteer services coordinator at Samaritan Healthcare, in a statement. “Each year it seems to grow, and now having five years’ worth of partnership from our neighboring clinics, we are hoping to make a big impact this Thanksgiving.”

Representatives from the Moses Lake Food Bank estimated they will feed nearly 1,500 families in the community this holiday season.

All donations will be directly delivered to the Moses Lake food bank and will be distributed Thanksgiving week.

“For us, knowing that every can of food, every turkey, and every dollar collected goes to help a local in family in need, is more than enough motivation to be out there volunteering for two days straight,” said Lange.
