PRIEST RIVER — Believe it or not, basketball season is here.
The Priest River girls basketball team opens its 2020-21 campaign 6 p.m. Tuesday at Wallace.
Somehow, someway we made it through the fall season. Each day every athlete, every coach and every parent wondered if the season would get taken away due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But it didn't and now those same question marks surround winter sports.
For now, the show goes on.
The Spartans will be looking to rebound from a 2019-20 season that saw them finish with a 5-16 record. The team went winless in Intermountain League play last year, but got better as the season progressed.
Priest River lost six seniors including leading scorer Karah Fink, who was a double-double machine last season.
All-league volleyball
Senior Josie Booth was named to the IML all-league volleyball team for her efforts this fall at outside hitter.
She led the Spartans with 93 kills this season.
