LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Clippers were busy dealing well before their 57th pick in the NBA draft on Wednesday night.

They acquired guard Luke Kennard from Detroit as part of a three-way deal with the Pistons and Brooklyn.

The Nets traded the 19th pick to the Clippers for guard Landry Shamet. The Nets picked Saddiq Bey for the Clippers, who sent Shamet to the Nets. Los Angeles flipped Bey, who played at Villanova, to the Pistons for Kennard.

Kennard missed most of last season due to knee tendinitis. Over 28 games, the 6-foot-6 lefty averaged career-highs in points (15.8), assists (4.1) and rebounds (3.5) as a starter for Detroit.

The Clippers went into the draft with just their late second-round selection after trading their first-round pick at No. 27 to the New York Knicks in February as part of a three-team deal that sent Marcus Morris Sr. to Los Angeles.

Los Angeles selected center Reggie Perry from Mississippi State at No. 57, but he is expected to end up in Brooklyn as part of a trade for guard Jay Scubb. Perry was the co-SEC player of the year as a sophomore.

Scrubb was drafted by the Nets at No. 55, making him the first junior college player selected in 16 years. The 6-6, 200-pounder averaged 21.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists at John A. Logan College in Carterville, Illinois, where he was the National Junior College Athletic Association national player of the year.

Led by Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, the Clippers finished second in the Western Conference — their best result in franchise history — playing in the league's Florida bubble. But they once again failed to get out of the second round of the playoffs, which led to the departure of coach Doc Rivers. He was replaced by Tyronn Lue.
