Kootenai County Democrats will collect donations of nonperishable food items and cash donations in the parking lot of Ramsey Park, just north of the Kroc Center off Ramsey Road from 3:30 to 5:50 p.m. Friday and 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday.

"Because of the COVID-19 health crisis, need at our local food banks is greater than ever," said a press release. "Please, if you can help, plan to drop off non-perishable food items or cash donations."

Items of special need are canned meats, pastas, and vegetables.

For the past two years, the Kootenai County Democrats have donated to Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls food banks.

"We are urging our generous and caring community to step forward again to help," the release said.
