KELLOGG — Jaden House scored 15 points to lead the Wallace Miners past the Priest River Spartans 46-33 in the opening round of the Silver Valley Tournament at Andrews Gymnasium on Friday afternoon.

Hannah Palfrey scored 11 points for Priest River (0-2), which faces Kellogg in the consolation game today at 2:30 p.m. In the late game, the Post Falls JV beat Kellogg 55-37 to advance to the championship game.

“Priest River outplayed us in the second half with hot shooting and good defense,” said Wallace coach Nichole Farkas, whose team led 23-6 at halftime. “They are a young team with a lot of potential.”

Wallace (2-0) — which beat Priest River in its season opener on Tuesday — faces the Post Falls JV today at 4 p.m.
