FLAGS: Let freedom fly

Concerning “Flags: Protest Disrespectful” dated Nov 13. Terri Boyd-Davis complains of her neighbors flying their American flag upside down which to her is “a disrespect to our country and our democracy.”

The First Amendment grants the right to freedom of speech and peacefully protest. Flying the American flag upside down is a form of both. Compare that to Antifa and BLM burning, looting, assaulting police officers, and threatening people, with the blessing of the Democratic Party.

The USA is not a democracy; it is a Constitutional Republic.

She thinks Biden “encourages respectfulness and unity.” Give me examples of how he accomplished that in the 47-plus years he’s been a politician.

In “Election: Time To Heal” dated Nov. 13, Gayla Moseley addresses those “filled with anger and division over this election.” I’m assuming he/she is referring to folks that voted for President Trump, you know, the “bitter clingers” (quote Obama) and “smelly Walmart shoppers” (quote Peter Strzok) that should “set the anger aside and come together to heal.”

Were Democrats doing that after Trump was elected in 2016? Remember the screeching harpies in their pink hats? Democrats started this cold civil war.

The Coeur d’Alene Press covered the Trump caravan on Nov. 11. The article mentioned a woman complained about the Trump caravan and encouraged The Press to NOT cover the event. Now we have people telling the local newspaper the First Amendment only applies in certain cases, i.e. the Democrat narrative.
