MOSES LAKE – There were 11 cases of the coronavirus reported in Grant County on Wednesday, including cases in Moses Lake and the Grand Coulee and Mattawa areas.

This brings the total number of cases since the pandemic began to 3,042. State officials reported Tuesday that 152 local residents have been hospitalized since the pandemic began, while 13 people with coronavirus are currently hospitalized, according to Grant County Health District.

The incidence rate of cases continues to fall, as it has steadily since mid-August, when the county logged nearly 600 cases per 100,000 people in the previous two weeks, one of the highest rates in the state. Since then, the incidence rate has declined to 333, the lowest rate the health district has reported since the end of July. However, this remains the third-highest rate in the state, according to state officials.

In Adams County, four new cases were reported in Othello on Wednesday, according to information from Adams County Health Department. Since the pandemic began, the county has logged 872 positive cases, and 754 have recovered so far. Two county residents with the virus are hospitalized.
