MOSES LAKE – Twenty-four participants, including local lawmakers from the 13th Legislative District and candidates for an open seat on the county board of commissioners, attended the first annual Grant County Republican fundraising golf tournament last weekend at The Links at Moses Pointe.
The first-time experiment for organizer James MaGee, an attorney and himself a relative newcomer to Grant County, the tournament included prizes for “best team,” “closest to hole,” and “long drive.” The event came together despite significant challenges, ranging from the pandemic and risks that the golf course could be closed as it was during the spring, due to the wildfire smoke that hung in the region’s air.
“But we all forged on ahead and it was a successful fundraiser,” MaGee wrote in an email. “It will be a ‘for certain’ repeat event in 2021!”
