GRANT COUNTY — A countywide burn ban in place for Grant County since the beginning of the summer expired at midnight Wednesday night, according to county officials.

The county has an annual burn ban from June 1 to Sept. 30, according to county officials, and, though fire risks still exist, the ban has never been extended since it was first implemented.

“We live in a desert and it’s dry, so it would take extraordinary circumstances for it to be extended,” said Fire Marshal Bruce Gribble.

Standard burning regulations remain in effect, including bans on residential and land clearing burning in the limits of any incorporated city, bans on burning household waste or other garbage, and others. For a full list of regulations, visit grantcountywa.gov.
